The Wisdom of Ayurveda
Discover the 5,000-year-old Indian healing tradition that restores balance between body, mind, and spirit through natural therapies.

A 5,000-Year Journey of Healing
Ayurveda, often called the "Science of Life," is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems. Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, it is rooted in the ancient Vedic texts and recognized by the World Health Organization as a traditional medical system.
The word "Ayurveda" comes from Sanskrit: "Ayus" meaning life, and "Veda" meaning knowledge or science. Rather than simply treating symptoms, Ayurveda focuses on achieving harmony between the body, mind, and consciousness — a philosophy that resonates deeply with the holistic approach we practice at CORAN.
At its core, Ayurveda teaches that every individual is unique, and that true wellness comes from understanding your own constitution and bringing it into balance through diet, lifestyle, and therapeutic treatments.
The Three Doshas
According to Ayurveda, every person has a unique combination of three fundamental energies called doshas. Understanding your dosha type is the first step toward personalized wellness.

Abhyanga & Marma Point Massage
Abhyanga is one of the most important therapeutic practices in Ayurveda — a full-body massage performed with warm herbal oils carefully selected for your dosha type. The word "Abhyanga" means "to anoint" or "to smear" in Sanskrit.
During an Abhyanga session, our therapists work along the body's 107 marma points — vital energy centers similar to acupressure points in Chinese medicine. These marma points are intersections where muscles, veins, ligaments, bones, and joints meet, and stimulating them helps release blocked energy and restore the body's natural flow.
Benefits include improved lymphatic circulation, detoxification, deep relaxation, nourished skin, reduced muscle tension, and enhanced immune function. Regular Abhyanga is considered a cornerstone of daily Ayurvedic self-care.

Shirodhara
Shirodhara is perhaps the most iconic Ayurvedic treatment, and one of the most profoundly relaxing therapies you can experience. The name comes from two Sanskrit words: "Shiro" (head) and "Dhara" (flow).
During the treatment, a continuous stream of warm herbal oil is gently poured onto the forehead, specifically targeting the area of the "third eye" (Ajna chakra). This steady, rhythmic flow calms the nervous system at a deep level, inducing a state of meditation-like tranquility.
Shirodhara is particularly effective for relieving stress, anxiety, insomnia, and mental fatigue. Many guests describe the experience as a journey inward — a profound sense of stillness and clarity that lingers long after the treatment ends.
